Using Job & Cost Centre Data in Fathom

If you're using jobs & cost centres in MYOB AccountRight Live, you’ll be able to bring in the job and cost centre data into Fathom for divisional analysis and reporting. This will help you to further filter your results to gain more detailed insights from your jobs and categories.

You can import up to 20 jobs & cost centres into Fathom for a single company when importing from MYOB AccountRight Live.

❗Notice: MYOB companies must be stored in MYOB AccountRight Live in order to import job and cost centre data.

Importing Jobs & Cost Centres from MYOB

To import the job & cost centre data for a company:

Go to 'Step 1 - Update data' in the company’s Settings
Select the 'edit' button next to the 'Tracking' heading.
Then, select which jobs & cost centres you wish to import for analysis and reporting. You can choose a maximum of 20 jobs and cost centres per company.
After selecting the jobs and cost centres for import, click on ‘Confirm selection’, then 'Import' to start the import process.

❗Notice: Fathom will always import the company totals. Therefore, if you do not import all of the jobs & cost centres for a company, this will result in some ‘Unclassified Data’.
While the import is occurring, you can keep using Fathom - simply click ‘Continue using Fathom’ to proceed. You will then be notified when the import is complete.

📝 Note: The import of data for each job or cost centre may take up to 1 minute, depending on the number of monthly periods to be imported.

What is ‘Unclassified’ data?

'Unclassified data' in Fathom represents the difference between the data for the entire company, and data that has been assigned to your jobs & cost centres. You may have unclassified data in Fathom if there is data in your financials that has not been attributed to a job or cost centre or if you have not imported all of a company’s jobs & cost centres.

Updating your job & cost centre data

You are able to update the job and cost centre data that is being imported to ensure that any changes made in MYOB are reflected in Fathom.

To update the job and cost centre data:

Go to 'Step 1 - Update Data' of the company’s Settings
In the ‘Financials’ section, click 'Update from MYOB'.

💡Pro Tip: You can also select the checkbox to 'Automatically update every day'. This will automatically update Fathom from MYOB on a daily basis.

Change the jobs & cost centres being imported

If you need to change the jobs and cost centres being imported into Fathom from MYOB AccountRight Live, then:

Go to 'Step 1 - Update Data' of the company’s Settings
Select ‘edit’ next to the ‘Tracking’ option.
From the menu that opens, select the jobs and cost centres to be imported into Fathom.
Click ‘Confirm Selection’
Select ‘Update’
