This feature is included with Fathom Pro - the plan with access to all of Fathom's features. Companies on Portfolio can be upgraded to Fathom Pro at any time.

Sources of non-financial KPI results

Non-financial KPI results can be entered manually into Fathom or imported from Excel or Google Sheets. You are able to use multiple sources to import or update non-financial KPI results in a company.

You may need to:

Identify all of the KPI results sourced from a specific connection or
Identify the source of a specific KPI or
Identify which Google Sheets are connected to a company

📝 Note: You will need to be an ‘Advisor/Editor’ or Admin level user to identify the source of non-financial KPI data in Fathom. If you are a ‘Client/Viewer’ level user, then you will need to have the ‘Update non-financials’ permission turned on in ‘Advanced User Permissions.’

Identify which KPIs are connected to which source

Any KPI results shown in black text are sourced from Excel or manually entered into Fathom. Results imported from Google Sheets are in grey text because they cannot be edited within Fathom; instead, you must edit the results within the Google Sheet itself.

💡Smart Tip: KPIs sourced from a Google Sheet will have a lightning bolt icon next to the KPI name.

If you want to identify all of the non-financial KPIs linked to a specific Google Sheet, then you can do so from the non-financials page.

Go to KPIs in the company’s Settings
At the top of the list of KPIs, select Non-financial KPI results
Select the Plug icon in the top right corner of the non-financials page
In the drop-down that opens, hover over the name of the Google Sheet
The KPIs sourced from that sheet will be highlighted in green on the non-financials page

💡Smart Tip: You are able to manually enter results for KPIs sourced from a Google Sheet, but only for periods that have not yet been synced over from the Google Sheet. These results will appear in black text and will be written over once you add the period to the Google Sheet and sync with Fathom. Any periods within a Google Sheet with any results will be synced over.

Identify which source is connected to a KPI

If you need to identify the source of a specific KPI, then you can also do this from the non-financials page.

Go to KPIs in the company’s Settings
At the top of the list of KPIs, select Non-financial KPI results
Click on the name of the KPI
A menu will open on the right side of the screen. The source of the KPI will be listed at the top if the KPI is from Google Sheets. If it’s a manually entered KPI or a KPI with results imported from Excel, then no source will be listed.

💡Smart Tip: If the KPI is sourced from a Google Sheet, you can select the ‘Plug’ icon in the top right corner of the non-financials page. Selecting the Google Sheet will open a menu where you can select an option to ‘Open in Google Sheets’. This will open the sheet in a new tab in your browser.

📝 Note: Non financial KPIs (and other custom KPIs) can only be created within an individual company. To use a custom KPI in a consolidated or benchmark group, you must add it to the KPI Library for it to be accessible in the group. This is available for Admin level users only.

List of Google Sheets connections made by you

If you have multiple companies imported in Fathom, then you may want to quickly identify which Google Sheets you’ve connected to which company.

To see all of the Google Sheets you’ve connected to companies in your Fathom organisation:

On the ‘My Companies’ page, select the Person icon in the top right corner on the black bar
Select Change my details
Scroll down to the Google account authentication section

The Google accounts you’ve used to make connections between Google Sheets and Fathom will be listed along with the connected sheets. You’ll see which company is connected to which sheet.

For Google Sheets connected to multiple companies, the number of companies will be displayed. If you hover over the number, you’ll be able to see the list of companies.

📝 Note: You will only see the Google Sheet connections made by you. You will not be able to view the connections made by other users in the Fathom organisation.
