An overview of where you can find your Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement within Fathom

You can include a summarised version of your Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet within Summary Reports, accessible to companies on a Fathom Pro or a Portfolio plan.

For companies on a Fathom Pro plan, you can view your Profit & Loss Statement, Balance Sheet and Statement of Cash Flows within the Fathom Analysis tools, in Pro online and PDF Reports, and via an Excel download.

Viewing your financial statements in Fathom's Analysis tools

This feature is included with Fathom Pro - the plan with access to all of Fathom's features. Companies on Portfolio can be upgraded to Fathom Pro at any time.

Within 'Analysis', navigate to ‘Financials’ at the bottom of the left-hand navigation bar. You can use each of the drop-downs to customise the financial statement you’d like to view. 


The period selector in the top right-hand corner of the analysis screen allows you to choose the date range of data you would like to look at. 

You can choose to view each of the statements in summary or detailed form. Selecting ‘Detailed’ from the dropdown will expand all custom headings and subheadings created in 'Chart of Accounts'.

You're also able to change the comparatives between ‘Budget’, ‘Last month’ and ‘Same month last year’. The variance in $ and % will automatically adjust against any of the selected comparatives. 

Adding your Financial Statements to Reports within Fathom

Summary Reports

To include a summarised version of your Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet within a Summary Report:

  1. Generate the report from the Insights Dashboard for the company you wish.
    ​

  2. Within the Summary Report editor, click the Page icon near the top of the left-hand sidebar.

  3. From here, check the boxes for both the ‘Profit & Loss’ and ‘Balance Sheet’ Summary Report pages to add them to your report.

Pro Reports

Pro Reports are accessible to companies on a Fathom Pro plan. To add a financial statement to a Pro Report, navigate to a draft report, or a newly created template, and click on 'Tables and Financials' in the sidebar on the left-hand side of the Report Editor.

You can add your Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statement in several different table formats including general financial statements, financial trends, and financial snippets.

Exporting your Financial Statements from Fathom to Excel

For companies on a Fathom Pro plan, you can easily export your financial statements to Excel. To do so navigate to the Report Centre and select ‘Excel reports’. From here you can access several reports including ‘Financial Results’ which contains your Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss. 

When you start the download of any Excel report you will be prompted to select the period of data you would like to view.
