Can you change the appearance of the main forecasting grid?

Hide rows, add subtotals or account codes & view quarterly or yearly totals in your forecast

Access the main grid

To access the main forecasting grid:

  1. Click the Forecast tile or the Telescope icon for a company on the 'My Companies' page.

  2. From the left sidebar, click the Telescope icon.

The main grid houses the forecast Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, the Drivers grid, and the Cash Flow Statement.

Scroll left-to-right on the grid to view up to 12 months of actuals or past financial data and your forecast data. By default, your forecast will extend to 3 years beyond the current financial year.

Appearance of the Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet

From β€˜Chart of Accounts’ in the company’s Settings, you can edit:

  • Account classifications
    ​

  • Headings
    ​

  • Subheadings
    ​

  • Order of accounts

In the forecasting grid, click the > icon next to a heading or subheading to expand or collapse it.


Change the format of the forecasting grid

In addition to the formatting options in the 'Chart of Accounts' settings, you have the following formatting options for the forecasting grid:

  • Hide line items with no values
    ​

  • Display subtotals (i.e. Gross Profit, Operating Profit, etc.)
    ​

  • Show account codes
    ​

  • View quarterly and yearly totals

  1. Click on the Telescope icon on the left sidebar to go to the main grid.

  2. Click the Three stacked lines with dots icon in the top right corner of the grid.
    ​
    ​

  3. Toggle on a formatting option by clicking on the horizontal bar to the right of the option. Green means the option is on.
    ​

    1. Hide Nil Rows: De-clutter your forecasting grid by hiding line items with all zero-values in the actuals and forecast.
      ​

    2. P&L Subtotal Rows: Add subtotals to the forecasting grid, including Gross Profit, Operating Profit, EBIT, EBITDA, and NET Income. Choose the standard or EBITDA layout.

    3. Show account codes: Adds account codes to the P&L and Balance Sheet. You'll also see account codes displayed in microforecasts and when building a formula value rule.

πŸ“ Note: If you have not imported account codes for a company or group, you will not have the 'Account codes' formatting option.

View Quarterly and Yearly totals in the forecast

To switch between viewing monthly, quarterly, and yearly totals for the forecast:

  1. From the main grid, click the Period Frequency (e.g. 'Monthly) at the top right.

  2. Choose the new period frequency view.

It is only possible to edit your forecast at the monthly level. You can also change the start date of the forecast via the 'Rolling from' option.
