Top Tip for Pro Reports

Reporting on rolling 12-months and financial years

Updated this week

Pro Reports are included with Fathom Pro - the plan with access to all of Fathom's features. Companies on Portfolio can generate Summary Reports. They can also be upgraded to Fathom Pro at any time.

Additional options

The Financial Trends table is a key feature of Pro reports that many users miss out on.

While Fathom's regular financial tables only enable you to include up to three prior periods, a financials trend table allows you to:

  • View financial data for up to 12 periods.

  • You can also include future periods from your forecast in the table.

Our Top Tip

πŸ₯‡Our Top Tip:

The bolded and underlined words at the top of the reporting menus reveal additional options, like Financial Trends tables.

To add a Financial Trends table to your report:

  1. In the Pro Report Editor, select Tables & Financials from the left sidebar.

  2. Click the second bolded text at the top of the menu.

πŸ’‘Smart Tip: There is also a dropdown menu for Charts and Layouts.

  3. Choose Financial Trends.

  4. Select one of the tables to add to your report. Some of the options include:

    1. Last 6 months

    2. This Financial Year

    3. Budget - This Financial Year

    4. Rolling 12 months

    5. Forward Projection (actual + budget)

    6. Forward Projection (actual + forecast)

  5. After you add the table to your report, you can hover over it and select the green Pencil icon. You can then customise the table further if it's not exactly what you want as is.

πŸ’‘Smart Tip: Watch a video on adding a Financial Trends table to a report.

The different versions of the Financial Trends tables are merely different starting points. If you add the 'Last 6 months' table to your report, you can edit it to show Rolling 8 months or turn it into a Rolling 12-month table.

Editing the Financial Trends table enables you to customise it for your preferred date range and layout. Learn more from our 'Tables & Financial Statements in Reports' article.

πŸ’‘Smart Tip: To look at trended KPI data, you can add a KPI Trends table to your Pro reports.
