Add an invoice note

Segment clients in your invoice for billing purposes

This feature is included with Fathom Pro - the plan with access to all of Fathom's features. Companies on Portfolio can be upgraded to Fathom Pro at any time.

Invoice notes are helpful for segmenting which clients or companies are associated with each office in a shared Fathom organisation. 

Notice:  You will need to contact our Support Team via messenger or email support@fathomhq.com to enable the Excel invoice report for your account. Once it's enabled, you can begin using invoice notes.

To add an invoice note:

  1. From the 'My Companies' page, click the Cog/Gear icon to access a company's Settings.

  2. Go to Company Profile on the left sidebar.

  3. Scroll down to the Invoice note field.

  4. Click + Add note

    📝 Note: Invoice notes have a 50-character limit.

  5. Type in a note (e.g. Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney)

  6. Click Add note

What if my invoice note includes numbers?

If a string of numbers is included in an invoice note, Fathom will handle this string of numbers as any other set of characters. If there are multiple zeros at the beginning or end of the string, the zeros will be included in the invoice note.

Will past invoices be updated?

Invoice notes are not dynamic. So, changing the invoice note will only update the note for future invoices, not past invoices.

How do I remove an invoice note?

Go to the Company Profile in the company's Settings. Click 'Edit note.' Remove all text and update the note.
